Waiting On Wednesday #13- Falling Under

Look at that cover!!! I just love the roses. Im a sucker for roses, as long as they aren't red, yuck! The title that accompanies this work of art is Falling Under by. Gwen Hayes.

In her dreams he’s irresistible—seductive, charming, and undoubtedly dangerous. But when he appears to her when she’s awake—and captivates her just the same—she’s not sure which way is up and which is down. Theia Alderson has always led a sheltered life, not allowed the same freedoms as the rest of the teenagers in the small California town of Serendipity Falls. But when a devastatingly handsome boy appears in the halls of her school, she feels every urge she’s ever denied burning through her at the slightest glance from Haden Black. Theia knows she’s seen Haden before—not around town, but in her dreams. Theia doesn’t understand how she dreamed of Haden before they ever met, but every night has them joined in a haunting world of eerie fantasy. And as the Haden of both the night and the day beckons her forward one moment and pushes her away the next, the only thing Theia knows for sure is that the incredible pull she feels towards him is stronger than her fear. And as she slowly discovers what Haden truly is, Theia’s not sure if she wants to resist him, even if the cost is her soul.
I think this book sounds like it is going to be incredible. It sort of reminds me of Beautiful Creatures, with the whole 'I saw you in a dream' prospect. Couple an awesome cover and a synopsis screaming paranormal romance and you have what I suspect to be one of my favorites in the future.

Waiting On Wenesday (10)

Terrifying memories of the attack on her mom and dad come flooding back. Bryn needs answers, and she needs Chase to get them. Suddenly, all allegiances to the pack no longer matter. An exciting new paranormal adventure, with a heroine who rivals Buffy theVampire Slayer, Raised By Wolves will leave you howling for more.

Wow!!! Move over vamps, werewolves are coming with a vengence. This book sounds incredible. Definately the action packed drama filled book I've been waiting for. And did you read that last line " A herorine who rivals Buffy" ... can it be true, say it ain't so!!! I'll have to read the book to find out!!!

Waiting On Wednesday (9)

Gosh, its been sooo long. I miss posting, things are so hectic right now in my house with my dad's flight getting delayed from coming back from Nigeria and a bunch of other things. Ugh, families, anywayz... Heres my beautiful Waiting on Wednesday pick.

 Mistwood by. Leah Cypess
 Release Day:  April 27th 2010
Synopsis from Goodreads:  The Shifter is an immortal creature bound by an ancient spell to protect the kings of Samorna. When the realm is peaceful, she retreats to the Mistwod.

But when she is needed she always comes.

Isabel remembers nothing. Nothing before the prince rode into her forest to take her back to the castle. Nothing about who she is supposed to be, or the powers she is supposed to have.

Prince Rokan needs Isabel to be his Shifter. He needs her ability to shift to animal form, to wind, to mist. He needs her lethal speed and superhuman strength. And he needs her loyalty--because without it, she may be his greatest threat.

Isabel knows that her prince is lying to her, but she can't help wanting to protect him from the dangers and intrigues of the court . . . until a deadly truth shatters the bond between them.

Now Isabel faces a choice that threatens her loyalty, her heart . . . and
everything she thought she knew.

Wait, just take a second to gaze at that cover. Isn't it beautiful? The title font, the castle in the background, the bright green eye, all combined to make a gorgeous cover.  I can already tell that this is going to be one of my favorites. I'm a sucker for a great fantasy, and with a little romance I see!!! But you know what they say, don't judge a book by its synopisis!!!

Waiting On Wednesday (8)

Oh Goodreads. You never let me down!!!
Look at the book I found today. It sounds like its going to be really good, the cover is extremely creepy, it reminds me of The Phantom of The Opera.

Guardian of the Dead by. Karen Healey
April 1st 2010
In less than a day I had been harassed, enchanted, shouted at, cried on, and clawed. I’d been cold, scared, dirty, exhausted, hungry, and miserable. And up until now, I’d been mildly impressed with my ability to cope.

At her boarding school in New Zealand, Ellie Spencer is like any ordinary teen: she hangs out with her best friend, Kevin; obsesses over her crush on a mysterious boy; and her biggest worry is her paper deadline. Then everything changes: In the foggy woods near the school, something ancient and deadly is waiting.

Karen Healey introduces a savvy and spirited heroine with a strong, fresh voice. Full of deliciously creepy details, this adventure is a deftly crafted story of Māori mythology, romance, betrayal, and war.

I love how pretty much every book coming out in 2010 is paranormal!!! It sounds really mysterious. The synopsis doesnt give away much, but that's part of makes it more curious!!!

Waiting On Wednesday (7)

Other by. Karen Kincy, Release Date : July 1, 2010 (There is also a release date countdown on mysidebar)                                                                   Seventeen-year-old Gwen hides a dangerous secret: she’s Other. Half-pooka, to be exact, thanks to the father she never met. Most Americans don’t exactly roll out the welcome mat for Others, especially not the small-town folks of Klikamuks, Washington. As if this isn’t bad enough, Gwen’s on the brink of revealing her true identity to her long-time boyfriend, Zack, but she’s scared he’ll lump her with the likes of bloodthirsty vampires and feral werewolves.

When a pack of werewolves chooses the national forest behind Gwen’s home as their new territory, the tensions in Klikamuks escalate-into murder. It soon becomes clear a serial killer is methodically slaying Others. The police turn a blind eye, leaving Gwen to find the killer before the killer finds her. As she hunts for clues, she uncovers more Others living nearby than she ever expected. Like Tavian, a sexy Japanese fox-spirit who rivals Zack and challenges her to embrace her Otherness. Gwen must struggle with her own
conflicted identity, learn who she can trust, and-most importantly-stay alive.

A new addition to add to my ever growing werewolf obsession. Dosen't this book sound too great!!! A new twist to an ever growing topic!!!

Waiting On Wednesday 4

Could this weeks Waiting on Wenesday have been posted any later!!! Well at least I got it out.

In Immortal: Love Stories With Bite, edited by New York Times bestselling author of the House of Night series P.C. Cast, seven of today's most popular YA vampire and contemporary fantasy authors offer new short stories that prove that when you're immortal, true love really is forever.

Rachel Caine (the Morganville Vampires series) revisits the setting of her popular series, where the vampires are in charge and love is risky

Cynthia Leitich Smith (Tantalize) gives us a love triangle between a vampire, a ghost and a human girl, in which none of them are who or what they seem

Claudia Gray (Evernight) takes us into the world of her Evernight series, in which a pre-Civil War courtesan-to-be is courted by a pale, fair-haired man whose attentions are too dangerous to spurn

Richelle Mead (the Vampire Academy series) brings us the tale of a young vampire on the run from the rest of her kind, and the human boy who provides the getaway car

Nancy Holder (the Wicked series, Buffy the Vampire Slayer) immerses us in a post-apocalyptic New York where two best friends are forced to make a choice that may kill them both

Kristin Cast (the House of Night series) introduces us to a new kind of vampire: one with roots in Greek mythology, and the power to alter space and time

And Tanith Lee (Black Unicorn) shows us what happens when a bright young woman with some supernatural savvy encounters a misguided (but gorgeous) young vampire.

I completely adore all of these kinds of books that have collections of diferent stories by all my favorite authors. I cant wait for this to come out. And Plus Rachel Caine *high pitch squeal*!!!

Waiting on Wednesday 3

My Love Lies Bleeding by Alyxandra Harvey
The Blakes are rather different to your usual neighbours. They are vampires and some of the members of the family date back to the twelfth century. One of the children, Solange, is the only born female vampire known and, as such, she poses a direct threat to the vampire queen. Her best friend Lucy is human, and when Solange is kidnapped Lucy and Solange's brother, Nicholas, set out to save her. Lucy soon discovers that she would like to be more than just friends with Nicholas. But how does one go about dating a vampire? Meanwhile, Solange finds an unlikely ally in Kieran, a vampire slayer on the hunt for his father's killer.

I keep saying that eventually I will get tired of vampires, but who am I kidding, NEVER!!! This book seems like a very complex book, which makes it sound all the more interesting!!!  The cover is really creepy to in my opinion, but creepy in a very appealing way!!!

Waiting On Wenesday 2

Light Beneath Ferns by.  Anne Spollen

Elizah Rayne is nothing like other fourteen-year-old girls. More interested in bird bones than people, she wraps herself in silence. Trying to escape the shadow of her gambler father, Elizah and her mother move into an old house that borders a cemetery. All her mother wants is for them to have "normal" lives. But that becomes impossible for Elizah when she finds a human jawbone by the river and meets Nathaniel, a strangely hypnotic and mysterious boy who draws Elizah into his world.

Only by forgetting everything she knows can Elizah understand the truth about Nathaniel—and discover an unimaginable secret.

Hmmm... How intriging. This sounds like a really unique book. Finding bird bones???  I never heard that one before but it only spikes my curiosity even more. And theres romance, need I say more!!! I cant wait for it to come out.

Waiting On Wenesday 1

Jill over at Breaking the Spine started this. I have wanted to do a Waiting on Wenesday forever. I add a new book to my Amazon.com wishlist pretty much every hour, so now everyone gets to be updated on the new books I am dying to get.

The Mark by. Jen Nadol                                                                                                                                                                 Sixteen-year old Cassie Renfield has seen the mark since forever: a glow around certain people as if a candle were held behind their back.

The only time she pointed it out taught her she shouldn’t do it again, so Cassie has kept quiet, considering its rare appearances odd, but insignificant. Until she watches a man die. Mining her memories, Cassie realizes she can see a person’s imminent death. Not how or where, only when: today.

Cassie searches her past, her philosophy lessons, even her new boyfriend for answers, always careful to hide her secret. How does the mark work? Why her? Most importantly, if you know today is someone’s last, should you tell?

This book sounds so awesome. It reminds me of My Soul To Save by. Rachel Vincent. But not in an annoying copy cat kind of way, more in a cool new take on a new genre idea!!! Plus a purple cover!!! I cant wait!!!
