These are the covers I have. I like how vibrant the colors are and I think they are fitting for the books. My favorite part of these covers are the daggers. They give them a nice flare. They are kind of a little too tame I think seeing as what the series is about.

Now we get down to the good stuff.These are so so so gorgeous!!! They are so artistic and intricate and colorfull. The bats add the prettiest touch to them and the pictures and models are perfect for each book. If I could read in Deutsch I would definately be ordereing these from amazon!!!

UK Covers 

  

I have to admit these covers are pretty hot. But they're kind of boring. Even though they sort of have the same theme as the US covers, those have a new school kind of funk. These look like novels from back back in the day!!!

 My choice is without a doubt the Deutsch covers!!! With covers like those, I would pick up the book without even wondering about the synopsis!!! Thats one vote for the Deutsch, what do you guys think???

This book just sounds so awesome. It sounds so contemporary, but the awesome cover and something about the synopsis suggests something more paranormal. I am really excited about this one. Cover Wars #1

Since I am the self proclaimed Queen of judging a book by its cover, I felt the meme Cover Wars seemed like fun. I don't know where this meme origniated (and if you guys do, please let me know, everyone deserves their credit) so I'll just give you links to other bloggers doing similiar memes. I Want to Read That, Not Enough Bookshelves, Sarah's Book Reviews, Imagination in Focus, and All Things Urban Fantasy all also do Cover Wars, and Bloody Bookaholic does a similar meme called US vs. UK. They all deserve the credit so Check 'em out!!!

Original US Covers

I really love the original US covers. They just have so much personalitly and they fit the each book so perfectly. The girl on teh cover is the perfect image for Raven. 

New US Covers

 

Now these covers gorgeous. They are just so gothic and mysterious and dark, I love how only part of the body is being shown in each cover. The fonts on all three are the perfect touch to all of them too!!!

Spain Covers

  

Wow, I really really really, dislike these with a passion. I love the font for the first one, but that is pretty much where the love begins and ends. I mean I know I'm not one to talk since I cant draw if my life dependedon it but they look like really quick and not what I look for on the cover of what I hope to be a great book.

Belgium

  

Been there, done that. I don't really like this one either. I mean can you get anymore cliche when it comes to a vampire novel. Red blood dripping font, girl with red lipstick and fangs, we get it. Next!!!

Japan

   

I actually really like these. They are so adorable. They look like manga, and the color schemes for each of them rock!!!

For this round, I definately think the Original US covers takes the cake. Which one do you guys choose?

Review: I cannot believe I put off reading this book for this long. Wondrous Strange is a enchanting book giving a new, darker, dynamic, and completly action-packed view on the faerie vs. human genre. I could not and did not put this book down if not just to sleep (at about 3 am I might add). This book definately was kind to keep you up all night long, but trust me, you won't miss the sleep!!!

Kelley, an aspiring actress, has no idea her city and her central park which she spends most of her time rehersing her role as Titania, is a gate between her human world and the OtherWorld, where faeries roam free. Until she meets Sonny, and her world turns backwards and inside out. Kelley and Sonny are so cute together. Though their romance is a bit quick throughout the book, it is more than adorable and completely believable. And Kelly was so much fun. She has such a sweet demeanor, but don't be fooled, right below that is a mace-carrying fiesty kick ass chick!!! And we can't forget Sunny. The warrior prince like guy. So heroic, so self sacrificing, so swoon worthy...
 
Overally I loved this book so much. It was just so exciting. The beginning introduces the characters, but when you get towards the middle the great plot really kicks in. It is so completely orignial and so interesting, I couldn't stop thinking about it or trying to guess what was going to happen next. Of course I was wrong on all accords. There is a lot going on and yet the plot just builds into something bigger and better, not more confusing. I doubt you will be able to keep still while reading.

Why oh why did it have to end. But it did, and with a bang. Lesley Linvingston packs as much action as she possibly could in those last few unbelievable pages. I loved it and the minute I get my hands on 12 bucks Im geting the sequal!!!

I Recommend: I recommend this book to all lovers of paranormal, romance, faeries, and an incredible story!!!

This is the largest I could get it to fit within my postbar. Isn't it a beaty. It's a little different scheme than the last two, but still I love the name Mockingjay and the cover. I don't know about you but when I saw this cover I got so excited. Its like seeing the cover brings me that much closer to the actual book. What do you think of it???

Review: Captivate by. Carrie Jones

A turf war is imminent, since the new pixie king, Astley, is moving in quickly. Nick nearly killed him in the woods on day one, but Zara came to his rescue. Astley swears that he and Zara are destined to be together, that he's one of the good guys. Nick isn't buying it, though Zara isn't as sure -- despite herself, she wants to trust the new king. But it's a lot more than her relationship with Nick that is at stake. It's her life -- and his. 


Review: Captivate is a remarkable book, as a sequal to Need, I have to say the second surpassed the first,  leaving me even more excited about what else is comimg up in the series. Romantic, suspensful, and captivating (pun-intended), Captivate is a must read sequal that takes readers more into the faerie realm introduced in the first book and into the minds of new and old characters leaving you needing (another intended pun) more!!!

Zara, the spunky main character who has just recently lost her step-father, learned she is part faerie, and found out her real father is a faerie King that has been preying on little boys, is one of the many characters I fell back in love with after the months between reading Need and Captivate. In my opinion, Zara grew more as a character than anyone else in the book,  and that made me love the book so much more. From the naive girl in the first book (remember- the girl who runs towards the unnatural voice in the woods in the middle of the night calling her name), to an incredibly strong leading character who isn't afraid of taking risks and plunging into danger for the sake of those she loves. Watch out Rose (Vampire Academy) Zara's now in the running for my favorite leading character!!!

Nick, Issie, and Devyn also grow in this book. Issie is still the loveable best friend who would still do whatever it is to help her supernatural friends even if she isnt exactly sure what she is doing. I stilled loved Devyn, I jumped up and down when he finally got out of his wheelchair, but then sat immediately back down when I realized it wasn't Issie he was sharing this special moment with. I mean gosh, Devyn is the eptiome of how clueless guys really get. All through the book I was yelling at him "How can you do that to loveable Issie?". And Nick is still the overprotective "hero guy" he feels he needs to be throughout the book.

Where do I start with this plot? So much is going on. Escapes, new Kings, a developing love triangle, transformations, discoveries, and so many near death experiences, and the new King Astley is at the center of it all. To be honest, I really didn't like him at all. Not only because he threatened my beloved Nick's place in Zara's heart, but because he seems so fake. Everything he said seemed to be totally ingenuine, and just for the sake of getting on Zara's good side. It was annoying. Every chapter brings a new faerie tip, and shocking gasps making you want to change pages even faster!!!

The ending was the perfect setup for the next book. Though some might think it was just a way to guarantee readers buy the next book, I don't think of it like that at all. I am even more eager for the next book in this series than I was for the second, and I expect it to be just as great in every way!!!


I Recommend: I recommend this book to all lovers of paranormal romances, lovers of the first book, fae, love triangles, and a book that you will definately not be able to put down!!!
