OMG!!!! I really I literally screamed when I opened my mailbox and found the giant envelope containing this book. I have been waiting to have this book for a while. But im probably going to have to wait until a time when we are on vacation from school, because when I was reading Twilight, I pretty much couldn't distinguish the time I was at school from when I was home, so my grades sorta took a turn for the worst. So to all those who in the future plan to pick up any Stephenie Meyer book; CAUTION: This book may have a negitive affect on your school career. Review: Glass Houses by. Rachel Caine

Synopsis: Claire is a 16-year-old math whiz whose parents decided she should spend two years at a small local college instead of taking her scholarships to an Ivy League school. How were they to know that Morganville, Texas, is a town controlled by vampires and that the leader of the popular girls, Monica, will soon be out to get Claire? Cynthia Holloway makes very real the vengeful dynamics of Monica and her "girls" as they hunt and torment Claire. She shows Claire's vulnerability and demonstrates the comfort Claire finds in making new friends, who eventually help save her life. As Claire s confidence builds, Holloway gives focus to her growing resolve and strength.
Review: I have never read any of Rachel Caines books before, but I am glad I started it out with this series new twist to the now rising vampire theme.
In the beginning when I was reading the back cover of this book at Barnes and Noble, I didnt think that I would like it, becuase it would have been the first book I read that actually protrayed vampires in the traditional way, as in the evil human killing way. Not the misunderstood, lover not a blood sucker way I have grown accustomed to in YA book world. But in truth I loved this book.
The plot of this books was great. Claire is just an overachieving student who wants to some day go to one of the top technological Universities in the country. Little does she know that the town she moves into is over run with mean murder capable dorm room girls, and the small factor that the town is run by vampires. As she tries to adjust to her new life at the Glass House, and her new roomates, including Shane who has also caught her eye, she finds there are many troubles that come with living in a town when the locals suck the blood of the townspeople on a daily basis. Seeing all these new factors unravel throughout the book was very amusing.
Overally this was a great read that kept me completely intersesting from the beginning of the book to this end. Don't be fooled by the small print of the book. It reallys isn't at all a light read but a great novel that pulls you in through all the books of the series. I reccomend this book to all those who are fans of vampires, and romance.

How do you like your Reviews?
I have been noticing a little inconsistancy with my reviews. Some of them are very long and detailed, some are short and to the point, and some might contain spoilers. I am not exactly sure how you guys prefer your reviews. I know for me it depends on how long I have been anticipating a book. So I created a poll in my left sidebar to answer the question, or you could add a comment on this post. All feedback is greatly appreciated!!!
Bookcases
Where does everybody get their bookcases? I have been looking everywhere for a good and sturdy bookcase that will finally be able to hold all of my books properly, but I can't seem to find one that is in my budget of 80 dollars. Does anyone know a store or a website that has really good bookcases that are also affordable??? Thanx!

Review: Poison Study by. Maria V. Snyder

Finally!!! Thats what I kept on thinking while reading this book. Finally a book that was so incredibly mind boggolingly good (yes, I felt the need to make up a word to describe this book). To say this book was a page turner would be a huge understatement. I would describe it as a gripping start to a trilogy.
The plot of this book was very original. I have never seen the idea of a poison taster ever explored before, and Maria V. Snyder did it in a remarkable way. The plot in Poision Study is filled with twists and turns. There are so many routes the plot takes throughout the book, just adding to the suspence and intrigue. As the magical element is added to the story Yelena's commitment to the commander, and her new mentor
Valek is tested while she starts discovering revealing things about who she is and where she comes from.
With every new question being answered throughout the book, a new one is asked, keeping readers on their toes to the very last sentence.
Reading about a main character such as Yelena was one of the greatests parts of the book. She is a person whom, despite what she has been through and her place now as a poison taster, is confident in her own. She is a very intelligent character and it is reasuring reading about a female character that doesnt get over shadowed by the male characters around her. She is such a strong character I couldnt help but shout "you go girl" in various places throughout the book. Valek is also a great leading male character, its fun to see how him and Yelena change together throughout the story.
The ending was perfection, is was a great way to pull the whole book together while still leaving enough unanswered questions and inquiries to make the reader sprint to their nearest bookstore and grab the second book in the trilogy.
This book had all the great qualities I look for in a book that can hold my attention days after I finish reading it. I reccommend this book to all those who are fans of magic, paranormal, suspence, romance, and just a great page turners that will keep you guessing!

I keep saying that eventually I will get tired of vampires, but who am I kidding, NEVER!!! This book seems like a very complex book, which makes it sound all the more interesting!!! The cover is really creepy to in my opinion, but creepy in a very appealing way!!!

I finally found time between school and volleyball to make it across the street to Barnes and Noble and by a book. I have been waiting for my BN to get this book in paperback and they finally do, and ive already finished it so I hope to review it soon.

Ahhhh it is impossible to express my excitement within this little sentence. I have been waiting for this book since the first time I saw the gorgeous cover, I'm a sucker for the color gray (go figure)!!! And I love the first sentence in the synopsis it just sounds so engaging and inviting!!! I can't wait !!!

Review:
Libba Bray is a very engaging writer, who truly draws you in with her descriptions and her unique writing style in this 1800's Victiorian Era. A Great and Terrible Beauty is a great beginning to what I expect to be one of the best trilogy's I have ever read. I usually do not read anything historical at all. But recently i've had the wimsical need to add a few to my library and so I got this book. I found this book to be very unique in its plot line. First of all, very rarely are the historical and paranormal genres combined, but Libbra Bray does it beautiful way. The main character Gemma was a great character to read about. She is a strong leading female character who would rather be her own person and run her life the way she wants it than to conform with the ways that society has categorized woman to be in. The paranormal theme is a unique take on witches. Gemma starts having visions which she cant control and cant predict. The plot really starts to develop as Gemma learns more to the origin of her visions and the dangers and responsibilities she has along with them . As Gemma along with her friends become more dependent on the newfound discovery of their magic consequences that they are not sure how to deal with also come along. Adding mystery and suspence to the novel as well. Overall this was a great book to read, and I cant wait to pick up the next in the series.
With the realms, magic, secret societies, gypsies, and the occasional romantic spark, this book was a interesting book and reccomended to all those who love paranormal, and historical reads.

Review:
This is one of the first historical fiction books I have read, and to be completely honest it was as expected. Historical fiction has to be my least favorite genre to read, but I decided to give this author a chance since her books seemed to have intruging plots. But as I said, the book was as expected. That isnt neccesarily a bad thing, but not a good thing either. The book was described to be a historical romance, but the outcome wasn't exactly that. It is mostly just a long description of how it was to be a housekeeper in the 1800's to a wealthy family. I found the main character, Anna, to be a nice character to read about, but she wasnt really developed enough, so I really get to know her as a character. That goes the same for the rest of the characters, there were so many characters, about a new one introduced in each chapter, that I couldnt keep track of who was who, which made following the story a bit hard. I find that the book kind of dragged on until I had read 2/3 of the book and the plot finally started to kick in, and then it got a little more interesting. Even then, I wouldnt really call this book a romance. But I did quite enjoy her descriptions and her imagery in her writing style. It was very descriptive and I really could get the feel of how it might have looked when the story took place. Even though I didnt thoroughly enjoy the book myself, I would still reccomend it to anyone who enjoys a good descriptive historical fiction book.

This book looks like it is going to be really good, and it tackles a major issue that is really on the rise in high schools all over, very excited.
